Law Students

M-LINC offers a great opportunity for Marquette University Law School students to gain experience analyzing legal issues and working with clients. Law students have been actively involved in the program from its inception. 1Ls, 2Ls, and 3Ls volunteer in a variety of ways including attending the M-LINC monthly clinic, coordinating lawyer outreach, conducting legal research, preparation for educational programs, and working with volunteer attorneys on pro bono referral projects. In this year alone, over forty law students have volunteered their time through M-LINC.

I have been interested in working with nonprofits the entire time I have been at Marquette. M-LINC has greatly enriched my law school experience and has given me an invaluable opportunity to learn more about what it means to be a nonprofit and work with them in a hands on way. I know I will take the skills and knowledge it has given me into practice and other parts of my life beyond graduation.”

Serving as a student coordinator for M-LINC this year has been a great experience. Not only have I had the opportunity to assist local nonprofits, I have also had the chance to help other law students get involved in volunteering. Because M-LINC is the first opportunity for students interested in business law to get hands on experience actually helping business, the outpour of students has been overwhelming.”
